The complete history of SacetLife by Dastageer Dsg
In 1995, at the age of 20, dastageer dsg , with Commercial Art diplomas in hand and little more than $5 in their pockets, teamed up to launch the first incarnation of Generator Design and aptly named it "Unique Images". The dynamic duo’s headquarters were none other than Alan’s parents’ garage – turned studio extraordinaire.
At the same time, Alan and Jose entered the world of pre-press in a full time capacity. Within a year they were juggling a start-up company and a full time pre-press work schedule and had officially jumped feet first into the design and print industry.
During this period of creative development, the two realized that the name “Unique Images” wasn’t really unique at all and did not reflect the true personality of the team. After a long brainstorming session, a burger run and a few Coca-Colas, the name Generator came into fruition – it was bold and strong, the name inspired creation and best of all… it wasn’t taken.
From that day (and a handful of legal fees) forward, Generator Design was born. The change of name also brought on a newer, “hipper” location on Devonshire Road in old historic Walkerville. With the new location came more clientele.
Alan and Jose amassed a healthy 8 years pre-press experience between them – all the while taking what they learned and applying this knowledge to their artwork. Quietly they were getting noticed within the community.
In the year 2000 Generator made it official. They incorporated. With a second name change in hand they became Generator Design of Canada Inc. Shortly thereafter, they moved into the Old Walkerville post office building – where they stayed for 5 very successful years. In 2005 Generator felt the need to expand once again and relocated to 3336 Walker Rd, where they currently reside.
Alan and Jose have always felt that superior service is only possible with a small operation and for that reason, the two have still continued forward, aligning themselves with some of the top professionals in the industry. This allows them excel at what they do best – superior design and superior service.
